Academic and Creative

ABOUT ME
I am a lecturer in Digital Innovation in the Department of Digital Humanities at King's College London, where my research focuses on how the collective identity of a field enables and constrains organisational-level innovation, especially during periods of field decline. Specifically, I focus on digital adaptation at non-profit classical music performing organisations (e.g. orchestras, opera theatre companies, etc.). Recent fieldwork has included research at the LA Philharmonic Orchestra, resulting in a journal article in the Journal of Digital Media (see Publications) that focuses on the role of digital asset management in optimising the value of digital content throughout its lifecycle.
When I am not engaged in my academic work, I pursue a range of creative activities, including photography and music. My first book, which will be published in 2027, considers the role of classical music in a digital economy in which audience attention has become a scarce commodity. Meanwhile, I am writing and directing a short film that explores the role of digital humanities amid radical technological change (e.g., advances in AI) and its impact on society and the economy. More details to follow as this project progresses through the summer of 2026 and on into 2027.
