Maximising the Value of Digital Content Throughout Its Life Cycle: A Case Study of the LA Philharmonic Orchestra
This paper, which is co-authored by Theresa Regli, examines how digital asset management (DAM) can maximise the value of digital content throughout its life cycle. It specifically highlights the LA Philharmonic Orchestra as a model of innovation in adapting its digital media strategy to meet the demands of a changing technological landscape and evolving audience expectations. Through interviews conducted at the orchestra, several key areas of interest emerged, deepening our understanding of how DAM facilitates digital initiatives. These areas include social media marketing, metadata management and remote working practices.

In this book chapter contribution, I explore the role of technology in shaping the classical music industry throughout the twentith century and now the twenty-first century. In particular, I consider how symphony orchestras and opera companies are adapting digital technology to innovate and redefine relationships with existing audiences and to reach new audiences.
